The Challenge

Helpen needed a premium Shopify storefront that matched their design-forward pet accessory brand. Launching a D2C channel from zero meant building not just a store but the entire direct commerce infrastructure — email, customer data capture, sizing guidance, and international pricing — from the ground up. The brand's strongest differentiator was design, and the storefront had to communicate that in a category dominated by functional, utilitarian retailers. The sizing challenge was particularly acute: pet accessories require fit guidance that goes beyond S/M/L to account for breed, weight, and neck measurement, and incorrect size purchases were a predictable source of returns and customer dissatisfaction.

Our Solution

We delivered a custom theme with lifestyle photography, pet-size configurators, and curated bundles. The minimalist theme was built to showcase the brand's Scandinavian aesthetic through generous whitespace, editorial lifestyle photography of dogs in urban settings, and a restrained color palette that let the product colorways speak. A "Find Your Fit" size configurator guided buyers through dog breed, weight, and neck measurement to the correct size recommendation, addressing the primary purchase anxiety in the category. Curated bundle products paired complementary accessories — harness, lead, and collar sets — to increase AOV while simplifying the purchase decision for new buyers.
